Exchange rate in Nepal today (Nepal Rastra Bank)

Nepal Rastra Bank publishes the official buying and selling rate for 22 currencies every day; this page loads today's rates directly from NRB. Multiply a foreign amount by the buying rate to see the rupees you get. Banks and remittance companies set their own rates close to NRB's.

Loading today's rates from Nepal Rastra Bank…

Whether it's a salary sent home from Qatar, Dubai or Malaysia, a tuition fee in dollars or a trip to India, the starting point is Nepal Rastra Bank's daily rate. This converter fetches it straight from NRB each time the page opens, and converts both ways.

Buying rate and selling rate

The buying rate is what a bank pays you for foreign currency — the one that matters when money is sent to you. The selling rate is what you pay to buy foreign currency, for travel or fees abroad. The converter uses the buying rate for foreign → rupees and the selling rate for rupees → foreign.

Some currencies are quoted per 100 (Indian rupee, Korean won) or per 10 (Japanese yen); the table shows the unit, and the converter accounts for it.

Why your remittance rate differs

NRB's rate is the reference. Banks, remittance companies and money changers add their own margin and fees, so the rate you are offered is usually a little lower when you receive money. Compare the offered rate with NRB's to see what the transfer really costs.

Common questions

Where do these exchange rates come from?

From Nepal Rastra Bank's published foreign exchange rates, loaded live from NRB when you open the page.

What is the Qatari riyal rate in Nepal today?

It's in the table above, with NRB's buying and selling rate for today. Choose QAR in the converter to convert an amount.

Why is the Indian rupee rate shown per 100?

NRB quotes the Indian rupee per 100 INR (and the yen per 10, the won per 100). The converter handles the unit for you.

Will my bank give me exactly this rate?

Usually not exactly — banks and remittance companies set their own rates close to NRB's and may charge fees.
