Visa check by passport number: is your work visa real?

1. 1Open the Ministry of Interior's Visa Services page and choose Visa Inquiry and Printing. It opens the form at fees2.moi.gov.qa.
2. 2The form opens in Arabic. Press English at the top right.
3. 3Under Search by (استعلام بـ) choose Passport number. The default is the application number, which needs your sponsor's Qatar ID.
4. 4Type your passport number exactly as printed, choose Nepal (نيبال) as the nationality, type the five characters of the captcha and press Inquire.
5. 5Your visa appears in a list: open its details to read and print it. Nothing found means no visa was issued on that passport, whatever the paper in your hand says.

2. 2Type your passport number and choose your current nationality, Nepal (نيبال).
3. 3Choose the visa type, Work (عمل), and where the visa was issued (جهة القدوم): Kathmandu (كتمندو) is in the list.
4. 4Type the captcha and press Search.

The UAE has two systems, and the emirate printed on your entry permit decides which: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah use ICP, below; Dubai uses GDRFA, in the next section.

2. 2Under Search By choose Passport Information, and under the type choose Visa.
3. 3Type the passport number and its expiry date, choose Nepal, leave "GCC Citizen" unticked, pass the Verify check and press Search.
4. 4A valid entry permit shows its status, the date it was issued and the last date you may enter the UAE. "No record found" means none was issued.

• Dubai: GDRFA's Status Inquiry does not search by passport. Choose File, then give your first name in English, the file number, nationality and date of birth. Ask the employer or agency for the file number.
• The job offer: MOHRE's View my contract takes the transaction number with your passport number, nationality and date of birth, and opens the contract as a PDF.
• The UAE government's own advice: a real job comes with a MOHRE offer letter and then an electronic entry permit; the employer pays recruitment costs; and a visit visa does not let you work.

Malaysia has no page where a worker in Nepal can check a work visa with the passport number alone. The employer applies for the visa (the VDR) through FWCMS, and you wait in Nepal until it is approved — "go first and we will fix the visa there" is not how Malaysia's own process works.

• The application's status: the Immigration Department's foreign worker inquiry needs the employer's IC number or company registration number and the application number — ask your agency. LULUS means approved; then come the FOMEMA medical and the sticker. TOLAK means rejected.
• A sticker or eVISA: the eVISA authenticity check takes the passport number and the sticker number. Whether it shows a worker's VDR was not confirmed.
• Beware: Nepal's embassy in Kuala Lumpur has warned of edited screenshots of uploaded demands and tampered quota letters. A screenshot proves nothing; the DoFE checks below do.

• Kuwait: the Ministry of Interior's Visa Application Status, linked from its residency e-services. Its boxes could not be read from outside Kuwait. Kuwait's own rules: an entry permit is valid 90 days, and one whose details do not match the passport is invalid.
• Bahrain: LMRA's expatriate employee check needs your Bahrain personal (CPR) number, so it works only after you arrive. Before then, rely on the DoFE checks.
• Oman: the Royal Oman Police Track Your Application page takes the visa application number, your passport number and nationality.

These are the checks that tie the visa to a legal job, and they need nothing but a number — no login, no captcha.

1. 1Your labour permit: DoFE's Passport Search takes your passport number, or the permit's sticker number. It shows the agency, company, country, job, contract length, salary and insurance. No record means you are not cleared to fly for work. More in the labour permit guide.
2. 2The demand: ask the agency for the lot number and enter it in DoFE's pre-approval search. It shows the agency, company, job, salary, food and accommodation, the service charge and the total expense DoFE approved. If the job or the salary differs from what you were told, or you are asked for more, stop.
3. 3The agency: look it up in DoFE's list of licensed agencies.

• It is not on the country's own checker, or the name, passport number or employer differ from yours.
• You are sent a screenshot or a PDF and told not to check it yourself.
• You are asked to pay for the visa or the ticket to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman or Malaysia — the employer pays both.
• You are told to go on a visit visa and change it there. A visit visa does not let you work.
• You are told to fly from India or another country. Agencies must send workers through Nepal's own airports unless DoFE allows otherwise.
• Money is asked in cash, to a person, or without a receipt. Pay only at the agency's office or into its bank account.
• The agent sends you a link to "check" the visa. Type the official address yourself: ICP warns of fake websites.

On 1 March 2026 DoFE suspended labour permits for the Gulf, and reopened them around 20 April 2026 (notice of 2083/01/07); Iraq stays closed.
