Age calculator: exact age from a BS or AD date of birth

To calculate your age, enter your date of birth in BS or AD and the date you need the age on — today, or the deadline in a vacancy notice. The calculator gives the exact age in years, months and days, plus total days, and converts the date of birth to the other calendar.

…

Job notices, Lok Sewa vacancies, school admissions and visa forms set age limits counted on a particular date — usually the last day for applications, not today. Enter your date of birth as it appears on your citizenship certificate (BS) or passport (AD), and the date the form counts from.

Age on a deadline

A notice that says "under 35 on the last day of application" means the age on that date. Put the deadline in the second box — in BS if the notice gives it in BS — and compare the years with the limit. Always follow the notice's own wording about how the limit is counted.

Need to convert the date itself? Use the Nepali date converter, or see the whole month in the Nepali calendar.

Common questions

How do I calculate my age from a Nepali date of birth?

Choose BS, type the date of birth from your citizenship certificate (for example 2058-05-15), and read the age in years, months and days.

How is age counted for Lok Sewa?

On the date the vacancy notice specifies, usually the last date for applications. Enter that date as the second date here, and check the notice for its exact rule.

Does it matter whether I use BS or AD?

No — they are the same day in two calendars. The calculator converts either way and gives the same age.
