Nepali calendar 2083 with festivals and holidays (नेपाली पात्रो)

How to read it

• The big number is the Nepali date (गते); the small one beside it is the English date; under it is the day's tithi.
• Red days are public holidays or Saturdays. Amber days are holidays for some — women employees on Teej and Jitiya, the Kathmandu Valley on Indra Jatra and Gai Jatra, schools on Vasant Panchami.
• Tap a day for its full detail. Under the month is a list of that month's festivals and holidays.

Where the dates come from

Public holidays are from the Ministry of Home Affairs notice for 2083, published in the Nepal Rajpatra on 18 Falgun 2082. Festivals that are not holidays are from the 2083 calendar of the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Vikas Samiti, as published in the national press. Eid and a few local festivals are holidays on the day they fall, which the notice does not fix in advance.

Each day's tithi is the one at sunrise in Kathmandu, calculated astronomically and checked against the festivals that are fixed by their tithi. A few festivals are kept by the tithi at dusk or at night — Laxmi Puja, Shivaratri, Kojagrat Purnima — so the tithi shown at sunrise can be the day before's; the festival date shown is the official one. Where a tithi changes within half an hour of sunrise, the day's detail says so, since printed patros can differ.

Public holidays 2083 (सार्वजनिक बिदा)

From the Ministry of Home Affairs notice in the Nepal Rajpatra of 18 Falgun 2082, for all government offices and public bodies. Every Saturday is also a holiday.
