Pharmacist CV / resume — a full example

Retail or hospital pharmacy. Council registration and the drugs you have actually handled are what get read.

A pharmacist CV in Nepal puts the Nepal Pharmacy Council registration above experience, because without it nothing else on the page can be acted on. Then it says which setting you work in — hospital, retail or wholesale — since they are different jobs and employers filter on that first. The example above names DDA inspections and the narcotic register too. The format works for a hospital pharmacist, a retail pharmacist, or a pharmacist resume for a job in India or the Gulf.

What to notice in this one

  • Nepal Pharmacy Council registration sits above experience. Without it the rest of the CV cannot be acted on.
  • The summary says which setting — retail, hospital or wholesale. They are different jobs and employers filter on it first.
  • DDA inspection and narcotic register handling are named explicitly. They are the two things a pharmacy owner worries about when hiring.

The name, employers and numbers above are invented. Replace every one of them — a CV that still says Prakash Bhattarai is worse than no CV at all.

Pharmacist CV format

The sections, in the order an employer reads them.

  1. Name, NPC registration and contact — Registration number under your name, then phone, email and city.
  2. Profile — Your degree, years of experience and setting — hospital, retail, wholesale, industry.
  3. Experience — Each pharmacy with dates and duties in numbers: prescriptions a day, stock value, inspections passed.
  4. Education — B.Pharm or diploma in pharmacy with college, university or board, and year.
  5. Skills — Dispensing, counselling, inventory and expiry control, narcotic register, billing software.
  6. Trainings — Pharmacovigilance, good pharmacy practice, drug information trainings.
  7. References — A hospital pharmacy in-charge or pharmacy owner.

Pharmacist CV objective

Two to adapt — change the numbers and names to yours. A career objective, or summary, is the two or three lines under your name.

With experience

For a fresher

Pharmacist CV for freshers

A fresher pharmacist CV leads with the B.Pharm or diploma and your registration. Your internship is your experience: name the hospital or pharmacy, how long, and what you did — dispensing under supervision, stock counts, counselling. If you have worked at a family medical hall, say so with the duties. Add any training in pharmacovigilance or good pharmacy practice. One page is right.

Examples for other fields

Fresher — no work experience

Just finished studying, no job yet. The hardest CV to start, and the most common.

Biodata (बायोडाटा)

The बायोडाटा a local-level, government or cooperative office asks for — personal particulars first, written in Nepali.

IT and software

Developer, QA, support or sysadmin. The one field where a link is worth more than a paragraph.

Accountant

Accounts, audit and tax. A Nepali employer checks the software and the filing first.

Teacher

School and college teaching. The licence and the levels taught come before anything else.

Staff nurse

Hospital and clinic nursing. The council registration is checked before anything else.

Bank and finance

Bank, finance company and co-operative roles. Compliance counts more than sales figures.

Health assistant (HA)

Health post and PHC work. Council registration is the first thing checked, so it goes near the top.

Medical lab technician

Pathology and diagnostic lab work. The tests you can run unsupervised are the whole CV.

Driver

Licence category, years without an accident, and the routes you know. Everything else is secondary.

Security guard

Service background, shift discipline and what you actually guarded. Written for agencies and for export employment.

Electrician

Trade level, the work you have wired, and the licence. Written for site work at home and abroad.

Hotel and hospitality

Front office, F&B or housekeeping. Star rating, cover counts and languages are what a hotel reads.

Office assistant

Computer operator and office assistant work — the most common office job in Nepal. Typing speed and Nepali keyboard are checked before anything else.

Receptionist

Front desk at a clinic, office or school. Manner, phone volume and calendar handling are the job.

Sales and distribution

Counter sales, route sales or distribution. Targets and territory are the whole CV.

NGO and INGO

INGO, NGO and project work. Donors, districts covered and beneficiary numbers are what a recruiter scans for.

Civil engineer

Site or design. NEC registration comes first, then the buildings you have actually stood on.

Marketing officer

Digital and on-ground. In Nepal that means Facebook first, and the numbers to prove it worked.

Doctor / medical officer

MBBS and medical officer roles. NMC registration first, then the departments and patient loads you have carried.

Dentist

BDS and clinic practice. Registration, the procedures you do unsupervised, and a patient count per day.

Physiotherapist

Hospital, rehab or sports physio. NHPC registration, caseload and the conditions you treat.

Medical representative

Pharma field sales. Doctors covered, pharmacies in the territory, and target achieved — the three numbers that matter.

Caregiver

Elderly and patient care, at home or abroad. Language level, care skills and the hours you have worked.

Customer service

Call centre, telecom and ISP support. Call volume, resolution and satisfaction scores are the whole job.

HR officer

Recruitment, payroll and labour compliance. Nepal's Labour Act and SSF are what separate an HR CV here from one copied from abroad.

Microfinance field officer

Centre meetings, loan disbursement and collection. Portfolio size and repayment rate are what a microfinance CV is judged on.

Graphic designer

Print, social and brand work. The portfolio link does the persuading; the CV says what you made and for whom.

Agriculture

Agriculture graduates and technicians. Field extension, the crops you know, and the programmes you have worked on.

Veterinary officer

Livestock and animal health. Council registration, the species you treat, and field programmes.

Welder / fabricator

Structural and pipe welding. Processes, positions and a skill-test level — what Gulf and local contractors test you on.

Auto mechanic

Two-wheeler, car or heavy vehicle repair. The vehicles you fix and the systems you diagnose.

Chef / cook

Hotel, restaurant and overseas kitchens. Station, cuisines and covers — the three things a head chef asks.

Housekeeping

Room attendant to housekeeping supervisor. Rooms per shift, standards and chemicals — for hotels here and abroad.

Trekking and tour guide

Licensed trekking and cultural guiding. Routes, altitude experience and the languages your groups speak.

Cabin crew

Air hostess and flight attendant. Safety training, languages and service — what an airline assessment day tests.

Journalist

Print, online and broadcast reporting. Beat, outlet and bylines — and links to the stories.

Lawyer / advocate

Litigation and advisory practice. Bar licence, courts appeared in, and the areas of law you actually practise.
