Signature

Draw it or photograph it, get a clean transparent PNG — and put it on your documents.

Almost nobody draws a good signature with a mouse, and almost everybody can sign a sheet of paper and photograph it. The problem is that the photograph brings the paper with it — grey, shadowed, slightly yellow, in a rectangle — and dropping that onto a white page looks like a sticker rather than a signature.

Photograph it, and the paper is removed

Sign a blank white sheet in dark ink, photograph it straight on in good light, and choose the file. The paper level is measured from the image itself rather than assumed, so a photo taken in a dim room works as well as one taken by a window.

Ink that is only partly dark becomes only partly opaque, which is what keeps the thin end of a stroke looking like a pen lifting rather than a hard cut-off pixel edge.

The result is trimmed to the strokes themselves. Without that, a signature sits in the corner of a large invisible box and lines up with nothing.

Prefer drawing? The pad takes a mouse, a finger or a stylus, with a baseline to sign on — people sign differently in a blank box.

Then put it on a document

Save the signature and it is offered on every document this site makes — the rent agreement, the employment contract, the certificate, all of them. Choose which block is yours and it is drawn above that line.

Only one block is ever filled. On a two-party agreement you sign and the other party signs by hand; a contract that arrives with every signature already on it is not one anyone should accept.

"Don't sign — I'll sign the printout" stays available, and for anything witnessed or notarised it is the right answer.

What this is, and what it is not

This makes an electronic signature — an image of your handwriting. It is not a cryptographic digital signature, which binds a document to a certificate issued by a certifying authority and proves the file has not been altered since.

An image is fine for a CV, a covering letter, an invoice, or an agreed copy sent by email between people who already know each other.

It is not fine for anything requiring witnesses, a notary, a land revenue office or a court. Print those and sign them by hand.

Treat the image like a signature, because it is one. Anyone who has the file can paste it onto anything.

Common questions

Is my signature uploaded anywhere?

Not unless you ask for it. The image is produced in your browser and saved in your browser's own storage, and there is no account by default. If you sign in to sync across devices, your signature is one of the things that travels — the sign-in screen says so before you agree to it.

Is an electronic signature legally valid in Nepal?

The Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 recognises electronic records and signatures, but the strongest form is a digital signature certified by a licensed certifying authority — which this is not. For anything registered, witnessed or notarised, print and sign by hand.

What makes a good photo?

A blank white sheet, a dark pen, even light with no shadow across the page, and the camera held straight above rather than at an angle. Fill the frame with the signature.

Can I use the PNG somewhere else?

Yes. Download it and it is an ordinary transparent PNG — usable in Word, Google Docs, a PDF editor, an email footer, or anywhere else.
