An अधिकृत वारेसनामा is the document by which one person (वारेस दिने) authorises another (वारेस) to act in their place: to appear at a land or court office, sign and submit papers, pay fees and collect documents. It is what you need when you cannot go yourself — most often because you are abroad, unwell or elderly.

Where it has to be made
For land and property, a वारेसनामा must be registered (पारित) at the Malpot office; a printed and signed paper is not enough.
If you are abroad, it is made at the Nepali embassy or consulate in that country, which certifies your signature. Embassies publish their own form and fee, so prepare the details here and follow their procedure.
For court cases, the court has its own वारेसनामा form filed with the case.
For smaller matters — collecting a document, dealing with a utility or a ward office — a signed and witnessed वारेसनामा is commonly accepted.
Cancelling it
A वारेसनामा can be cancelled (बदर) by the person who gave it, in writing, at the office where it was registered or used. It also ends when the matter is finished, on the date stated, or on the death of either person. If you only need to agree to something and will be present yourself, a मञ्जुरीनामा is the simpler document.
