What is different about vehicle tax in Lumbini
Lumbini does not tax e-scooters up to 500 W at all, and takes 20% off every private EV's tax. Until Chaitra end 2083 it waives half of the late fines; only one concession can be used at a time, so a late EV owner takes whichever is bigger.

Deadline and late fine in Lumbini
Deadline: Within 90 days after the renewal date in your bluebook, or by Asar end, whichever comes first.
Fine: 20% to the end of the fiscal year, then 40%, 60%, 80%, 100% and 120% for each year after (as the province's transport act is read by others; confirm at the office). Half of it is waived if you pay by Chaitra end 2083.
For example, a 150cc bike paid 40 days late: tax Rs 5,000, fine Rs 500 (Rs 1,000 before this year's relief), renewal Rs 300 and Rs 300 for renewing late, so Rs 6,100 in all. With last year unpaid too: Rs 12,700.
The rule after the first year is as others read Lumbini's vehicle act, which we could not find online; confirm at the transport office.
